Trail Riding Course
29th to 31st of May
Based at Cotgreave Farm and riding out into Shipley Country Park
Hacking, or trail riding is one of my favourite things. I enjoy doing a bit of everything with my horses and try to keep learning and improving in all areas but I think Hacking and going on long treks in particular is my favourite. There's nothing better than going exploring and finding new routes and then when you find a nice stretch of grass going for a good canter.
In order to do this and enjoy this though, you first need to feel safe and have control of your horse in different environments. This course is designed for those who are confident riding in a small area and want to progress to hacking out or would like more confidence when out hacking. We will start by looking at how to improve your horses respect in you as a leader in a safe area and I will give you strategies to use to keep your horse's focus on you and help them stay calm and relaxed. We will begin to use and test these strategies in new environments and more open spaces working up to being able to go for a trail ride as a group when you and your horse are ready.
